Highlights of Week 1!
5th May 2019 (Monday) Reporting to NTNU
A New Beginning ~
As soon as we arrived in Taiwan on 4th May 2019 (Sunday), we reported to our host institution, National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) by 9.30am! All of us were excited in embarking in this exhilarating journey for the next 5 weeks!
AT NTNU, we've met the liaison officer, Mr Hiki (A really nice guy! ^^), and also our respective buddies who would be coming to Singapore for their version of International Practicum in July! We are really thankful to have met them even though it was only a short period (since they had lessons in NTNU and we had to go to the school later in the day)!
They took us for a short tour around NTNU, it was an enjoyable day for us! Next stop after NTNU, we took a short bus ride to Longmen Junior High School, beginning our 5-week stint at LJHS! Wooooooooooo ~

10th May 2019 (Saturday) A trip to the Presidential Office
Enjoying Taipei!
After our first week of school, we finally manage to catch a breather when the clock struck 4pm on Friday, our long awaited weekend, weeeeeeeeeeeee ~
After we've completed our reflections and other respective tasks on Friday evening, we took a trip to Taipei to take a look! It was a funfilled day visiting the Presidential Office, Taipei Guest House, 228 Museum and the National Taiwan Museum! The short visits definitely gave us a crash course on their culture, heritage and history!
11th May 2019 (Sunday) A trip to Tam Sui
Appreciating another side of Taipei
After a week of living the city life, Some of us took their Metro and made our way to Tam Sui! Over there, we rented bikes and went on a journey by the coast, walked the famous Tam Sui Old Street, looking at a beautiful sunset by the sea! Though a tiring day, we thoroughly enjoyed and bonded through the experience!

11th May 2019 (Sunday) We survived the week!
Adapt ... Adapt ... Adapt!
1st week was a tough one! We had to adapt to a ton of things! We had to adjust to a different country, and by extension - different culture, language, food (didn't take very long for us to get used to the delicious food) and the weather (intermittent rains and strong wind = One of our member was down for the first week)!
Other than adapting to the changes in the environment, we also learn to live with each other - the differences in our lifestyles and habits. Everyone sat down and establish certain routines, shared about our lifestyles, concerns and all!
While most of us find it tough in the process of adapting, I really enjoyed the small conversations that we had at night when everyone was home and shared about the exciting things that they saw or experienced in the day. Personally, they were really my family away from home!
